How do i conveniently apply change?

I want to ask copilot to optimize a particular function. But when I use , it seems copilot erases whole thing in file and insert the new code.
I might be telling this wrong. But still then, i would like to know the workflow of letting copilot know the context of my file (or files) and yet apply change partially, and let me apply it with a keybinding.

It already does that, with c-y. And as long as the diff headers are generated correctly, it will also apply partial changes
