Yes, I think this makes a lot of sense since anchor tags are properly supported in the SVG spec so the whole foreignObject dilemma can be avoided with this.

My initial approach would be to allow the definition of an href field on each node in the dataset:

{
  name: 'Node Name',
  href: 'https://www...'
  attributes: {...}
}

in which case react-d3-tree renders the node name wrapped in the anchor tag with said href attribute. Nodes in the dataset without an href attribute are treated as before.

Additionally it would probably make sense to add a useHyperlinks: bool prop or similar to allow manual overriding of this behaviour on the top level.
